CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP

Citizenship in Canada endows a person with the full political and civil rights in the politics of the nation. Permanent residents have a right to enter and remain in Canada if they fulfil their residency obligations and maintain their permanent residency status but have no right to vote or be voted for. A Canadian citizen however can vote and be voted for and have the civic duty serving in the jury.

The Canadian citizenship Act allows for four methods of becoming a citizen namely

  • Being born in Canada
  • Being born outside Canada to a Canadian citizen
  • Being born outside Canada and adopted by at least one parent who is a Canadian citizen.
  • Applying for a grant of Citizenship (Naturalization)

The team at OAL Immigration are experts who can help you determine if you are eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship and guide you through the application process to help you obtain Canadian citizenship seamlessly.
